Hey everybody!
Just popping in to say hello and share some pictures. Progress has purposefully slowed the past couple of weeks due to some travel and other activities, responsibilities, etc. As you might have gathered by now, there is truly never a dull moment with us. Both a blessing and a curse, ha!
Even yesterday, I had finally put the girls to bed and got things organized for the workday tomorrow. I was about to get comfy for Game Of Thrones when I happened to notice our furry friends that I’ve been hearing every night: The direwolves! Jk, regular non-magical coyotes. A few weeks ago I took this video of them howling in the dark:
I’ve seen one scurry around in the field before, but today there were two…
Anyway, they both spotted me and I had an immediate visual flashback to the raptors in the OG Jurassic Park movie, dividing and conquering. Back inside I went!
Speaking of the house, there are finally doors and windows in the back, which means no giant openings out to the yard anymore. Wildlife had been able to come and go as they pleased, including wild turkeys that startled the work crew one morning!
We are just waiting on an exterior French door for the den, as the one we custom ordered still wasn’t the right fit. It will go right between the two farthest windows in the picture above. I had wanted grates on the windows, so they would match the rest of the house… but oh well. Someday. Agh. There are so many things that we would do if we had unlimited time and money! Honestly, it’s now been a year since our offer was accepted and this crazy ride began, and we are itching to get back to normalcy. Well, normalcy for us, which basically means a lot of organized chaos minus the construction-y environment. I am obviously excited about every little bit of progress, especially since everyone has been doing such a phenomenal job. Shout out to Ro, who was not only here on Saturday to work on the roof, but also helped me deal with a flat tire whilst my toddlers asked about ten thousand questions regarding why we were missing gymnastics…
Anyway, here are some recent pictures. I promise to take more soon! …
Current kitchen…looking toward where a door will be…
Kinda in love with those faded boards! Might have to find a new place for them as well…(we have piles of antique wood everywhere! Very exciting for repurposing projects to come)
Kitchen window… Farmhouse sink to follow, someday…
Speaking of windows, here was the view from the living room the other day. Connors Farm tractors getting things ready for the upcoming busy seasons! Tours have actually already started too, which go right by the house. Wave if you happen to see us 🙂
Lastly, me, at another “farmy” property in Georgia last weekend… My buddy Mercy and I…Just wondering: Nick probably won’t notice if I sneak a pony into the garage right?! I mean, its original purpose was a barn anyway…

Wow! Things are moving right along. Is that really the kitchen all gutted down to studs? Such an incredible journey. Some day you will be sitting on that porch sipping lemonade and wondering what to do with all your time!
